Description

Description

The Dräger Saver CF5 (N) is an emergency escape breathing device (EEBD) supplying up to 5 minutes of compressed air for safe escape from hazardous atmospheres. Designed for reliability, portability, and compliance with safety standards in industrial and marine applications.

Dräger Saver CF10 (N) is an emergency escape breathing device (EEBD) providing up to 10 minutes of compressed air for safe escape from hazardous atmospheres. Compact and user-friendly for industrial, maritime, or confined space applications. Designed for maximum safety, reliability, and compliance with regulatory standards.

The Dräger Saver CF N (NIOSH) is a constant‑flow, hood‑based emergency escape breathing device designed to provide a breathing air supply during escape from hazardous atmospheres (e.g. smoke, toxic gas, or oxygen deficiency).

Key Features & Operation

  • Constant flow / positive‑pressure hood: Once activated, the device continuously supplies breathing air to the hood, maintaining slight positive pressure to help keep contaminants out.

  • Automatic activation: Opening the carry bag triggers the device—no manual valve manipulation is required under stress.

  • Hood design: The flame‑retardant hood includes a large visor for good peripheral vision and is compatible with users wearing spectacles or having facial hair.

  • Carry & mounting options: The device is housed in a bright orange, integrated carry bag (with photoluminescent panels for visibility in low light). It can also be wall‑mounted in strategic locations. The unit may be worn as a chest bag or slung over the shoulder.

  • Fail‑safe reducer: The internal regulator ensures consistent air flow until the cylinder is empty.

  • Low maintenance & refillable: A transparent window lets users check cylinder pressure without unpacking. The cylinder is refillable for reuse.

Performance & Technical Data

Parameter Typical Value / Range
Available escape times 5, 10, or 15 minutes (Note: 15‑minute version is temporarily unavailable in some markets)
Airflow to hood ~35 to 37 L/min
Cylinder charging pressure 3,000 psi
Dimensions (Example, CF10 model) ~240 × 180 × 440 mm (≈ 9.4 × 7.0 × 17.3 in)
Weight (CF10 version) ~5.12 kg (≈ 11.2 lb)
Operating temperature range –15 °C to +60 °C (5 °F to 140 °F)
Approvals / certifications NIOSH, ABS, SOLAS, TC (Transport Canada)

Applications & Use Cases

  • Ideal for emergency escape scenarios in industrial sites, offshore platforms, ship engine rooms, chemical plants, refineries, and other areas where toxic gases or smoke may appear abruptly.

  • Useful in both onshore and offshore operations, particularly where regulatory compliance (e.g. SOLAS) and certifications are required.

  • Useful where minimal user training is preferred, given its simplicity of donning and automatic activation.
