The Dräger X-plore 8000 system: Designed for full compatibility

No matter how tough the conditions, the X-plore 8000 system from Dräger provides maximum respiratory protection without increased breathing resistance, even during long periods of time. Depending on the system configuration, it can also offer protection for the head, face including eyes, and hearing.

The system consists of either an X-plore 8300, X-plore 8500 or X-plore 8700 powered air-purifying respirator for applications dependent on the ambient air or the X-plore 9300 compressed air line system for working with an independent air supply. Both are combined with a headpiece such as an X-plore 8000 helmet, visor, hood or X-plore mask (X-plore 9300: only for loose fitting headpieces). The components can easily be combined for different use cases. No matter which product combination you choose, you can always rely on your equipment for maximum performance.

Dräger X-plore 8000 hoods: Maximum comfort and safety

Dräger X-plore 8000 hood series offers the highest level of safety. Along with the X‑plore 8300, X‑plore 8500 or 8700 powered air-purifying respirator, they fulfil the requirements of the TH3 protection class. In combination with the X-plore 9300 compressed air line system, they are rated device class 3B. In addition, the hoods are extremely light, making them very comfortable, even during longer use. And the hose connection's intelligent air distribution makes them extremely comfortable, as it prevents cold feeling at a single spot.

You have a choice of two sizes to ensure a perfect fit. The hoods are also available as a standard design or as a premium model, each in short or long versions. So, you can always find the right solution for the job. The hoods are recommended for use in all areas where no additional mechanical head or eye protection is needed.

Use Case Scenarios and Applications

Industrial Maintenance

Industrial maintenance crews often use this hood when they need compatible respiratory protection for routine repairs and inspections. The hood works well with powered air-purifying respirators, and users usually select the length that suits their workspace. Its lightweight feel supports extended tasks without adding unnecessary bulk.

Controlled Work Areas

In controlled areas, teams often need a loose-fitting headpiece that pairs with ambient air applications or an airline device. This hood supports that setup and helps users maintain comfort during repetitive work. It also suits jobs where open headpieces are preferred.

Long-Duration Plant Operations

Plant personnel commonly wear this hood during long shifts because it supports comfort over time. The design helps distribute air more evenly, which can reduce the cold spot effect that some users notice in respiratory gear. That makes it practical for ongoing production work.

Airline-Supplied Tasks

When teams work with the X-plore 9300 system, they can pair this hood with an independent air supply. This setup suits jobs where compressed air line system compatibility matters. It gives workers a flexible option for sustained use in demanding environments.

Choose this hood when your team uses X-plore powered air-purifying respirators or the X-plore 9300 airline device. It performs well in industrial workplaces that need lightweight respiratory protection for open headpieces. It also suits longer shifts where comfort and compatibility matter.

Key Evaluation Factors

  • Check whether your respirator system matches the hood connection
  • Review size, length, and design options before assignment
  • Consider whether you need short or long coverage for the task
